Steve has almost 20 years sailing experience cruising and working on yachts in the Atlantic and Pacific and Indian Oceans. After completing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Steve restored a classic wooden yacht which he sailed from England to the Caribbean. Since joining SILVER DREAM in September 2004, Steve has obtained his MCA Masters Certificate. All watersports appeal to Steve however he is particularly keen on surfing and scuba diving. Steve is now in his 12th year aboard SILVER DREAM. During the winter seasons Steve has also taken on the Relief Captain role on board SLIPSTREAM. When time allows Steve heads to Costa Rica where he is building a house, although he’s more likely to be found surfing rather than house-building!

Thomas was born in Kent, England. His desire to work on yachts was inspired by his strong family yachting history, spanning three generations working within the industry. After graduating with a degree in Business Management at Nottingham Trent University, Thomas wasted no time securing his first deckhand role aboard M/Y MOONSAND. Since then he has continued to develop and expand his skills, achieving his PWC instructor and RYA Yachtmaster, ensuring guests have the maximum fun on the water. Thomas joined the SILVER DREAM crew in 2016 and is thrilled to have started 2017 with promotion to First Officer, he is currently studying for his OOW qualification.

Mark boasts a 16 year career in gastronomy combining classic techniques with a creative approach and consistently exploiting the full potential of all his ingredients. After Mark left school he travelled around Europe, America and New Zealand persuing his passion for snowboarding, this also led him to work in France as a Second Chef in three different locations. When Mark landed back on English soil he became a Sous Chef at Martin Wishart, the multi-award winning one Michelin star restaurant. During this time he worked in four different sections of the kitchen to gain as much knowledge and experience as possible. For the two years before he joined SILVER DREAM he was working as Head Chef at Greywalls Hotel and Chez Roux where he managed a Brigade of nine chefs while still maintaining the incredibly high standards set by the legendary Chef Albert Roux OBE. During these two years, Mark has helped the kitchen win an array of awards, including two consecutive EL Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year Awards and the Edinburgh and Lothians Hotel Chef of the Year. In addition to this he was also featured in both the Michelin and Good Food Guide. Having come from a small seaside town on the East Coast of Scotland Mark is glad to be back at sea where he feels at home and is excited to demonstrate his magnificent cuisine for guests.

Her can-do attitude and focus has recently led to her achieving a level 3 fitness diploma and personal stylist course and she has already decided her next challenge will be improving her French! Katie has travelled to over 17 countries and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. If you are wanting fashion or fitness advice then Katie is your woman.

His love for sailing and being on the water is second to none, even after surviving a hair raising crossing from Lisbon to Las Palmas! After a few years shore based, James couldn’t resist the opportunity to work full time on yachts and is looking forward to new adventures with the SILVER DREAM crew.

Last summer Jeremy completed his Commercially endorsed Yachtmaster’s Certificate, he is also a qualified jetski and powerboat instructor. Jeremy’s real passion is windsurfing in which he enjoys the thrill of high speed sailing.
